2025 Trustee Election Cancellation
9/30/2025

Following the withdrawal of candidate Gary Wilks from the 2025 Trustee Election, both the Retiree and Active positions now have a single nominee each: incumbent Aaron Woolverton for the Retiree Position and Andrew Ratoza for the Active Position. As a result, an election is no longer required under the Fund’s governing statute. Both nominees will be appointed to the Board of Trustees, with terms beginning in January 2026.

Under House Bill 2802, this election would have used vote counts to determine the term length for each position (either three or four years) as part of the Board’s transition to standardized four-year terms. In light of the uncontested positions, Woolverton volunteered to serve the shorter, three-year term, allowing the sole active member of the board to carry the longer, four-year term. This approach not only supports a smoother transition but will enable the Fund to save some of the cost associated with holding an annual election.

The Board of Trustees approved this proposal at their September meeting and updated the Governance Policy to reflect the revised term lengths for the two positions.
